Price change: OPEN, OpenTable Inc, plunging $5.60 to $37.50 (13%)
Thesis: OPEN is dipping almost 13% after they miss their revenues for QE3 by almost $1.5 million from estimates of $35.9 million to $34.4 million
Bottom line: OPEN is yet another high flyer with a high P/E growth stock that is getting hit by a slowdown in spreading. On their conference call, they went on to talk about a slowing revenue growth and increased competition. This is similar to Netflix and we also see LNKD selling off on this trade. Even though their revenues were up 24% in North America and 254% International year over year, investors are running to the hills as this stock sky rocketed to $115, now back under $40 in the last 18 months. Finding weak stocks and shorting them on rallies is one trade I always like to make.
